David @ Tokyo

Perspective from Japan on whaling and whale meat, a spot of gourmet news, and monthly updates of whale meat stockpile statistics

3/11/2011

I'm safe, prayers for others on the Pacific Rim

I am actually in New Zealand right now, due to an emergency (not the Christchurch earthquake, fortunately. Not in Japan now as a result, at least for the time being.

Today's earthquake and tsunamis are tragic not only for Japan but likely also for other nations of the Pacific yet to be hit by the waves...

This is a terrible day.

Let's be thankful that of course we are safe but also think of those that are facing the adversity of nature - and hope that as many people as possible are able to get themselves and their families to safety, if the disaster has not yet struck their homes.

Saw your update on twitter, but just noticed this.
Hope your friends and family are also OK.

Hi David,
Glad that you're OK!
Sent bird pics on Birdforum dedicated to the Japanese people, for example the Blackheaded Gull is Tokyo's bird symbol.

Take care,
Ann

Blimey I haven't checked this site for months but there's a lot going on I gather. I hope you and your loved ones are still doing well David.

All well thanks John :)

I am told that there is good pay for people who want to make pro-whaling comments on newspaper blogs.

I am told David@Tokyo can help me find this employment.

I have up till now been doing pro-whaling comments for free.

see:

Please advise me on how much I can be paid and the terms.

Hahaha, Hi Gordon. Thanks for your comment, it gave me a laugh.

You have stumbled across the typical response from an anti-whaler who finds it easier to cast aspertions on anyone who doesn't agree with the "whales are special" creed than think rationally and critically about the subject.

I read your comments and found myself 100% in agreement with your sentiments.

Oh yeah I almost forgot - if you ever find out how we can be paid for our non-anti-whaling comments then please drop me a line :)

Why so angry David? did mercury level went up lately? try more veggies dude.

Hello, Mr. Fruitloop.
